Community Services Advisory Committee

THAT the order of agenda be amended to allow Art in the Park to present their report prior to any other business item.

THAT the May 2, 2018 Community Services Advisory Committee meeting minutes be adopted as presented.

THAT the Art in the Park wrap up report be accepted as presented.

THAT the Committee recommend for Ms. Stokes to be connected with the Director of Protective Services for additional discussion, as the focus is of the concept is more fitting for Emergency Management and Protective Services.

THAT with the recreational master plan currently being drafted, there may be an opportunity to further explore the proposed concept as presented; AND THAT once a business plan is finalized and concept established the Muller's are to connect with the Director of Community Services further discuss the proposed project;

THAT the Santa Clause Parade theme for the coming two years be in 2018 " The 1950's & 60's Era" & 2019 "Christmas in Space".

THAT the Community Services Advisory Committee thank the Petrolia Heritage Advisory Committee for bringing the item forward as it has a great involvement on the Community Parks; AND THAT while the Committee understands the prospective of the Heritage Advisory Committee in the possible recovery of artifacts, however public parks are possibly not the best location for this form of detectoring due to the high use of the parks and sportsfields and the damage that could be a possibilty; THEREFORE the Community Services Advisory Committee is not able to support or recommend support to Council for an agreement to be formed allowing metal detector activities at Parks and Sportsfields;

THAT the September 5, 2018 Community Services Advisory Committee meeting be adjourned to October 2018.
